The first draft of "Half of My Life" poured out of me by candlelight during a Hurricane Sandy power outage. I'd been trying to bury myself in work in order to deny the harsh reality of a deteriorated friendship, but when all my work was cancelled due to the storm, and the Internet was shut off, I no longer had any distraction from my thoughts. This is the most vulnerable song I've ever written, and if you've been through something similar, I hope you'll feel less alone when you hear it. -AW​
