Ashley Wool is a Broadway actress and singer, internationally renowned for originating the role of Jessica in How to Dance in Ohio, an uplifting trailblazer of a musical that marked a watershed moment for autistic representation in the theatre industry. She remained with the show from its first staged reading in 2021 to its world premiere at Syracuse Stage in 2022 to its Drama Desk award-winning Broadway run at the Belasco Theater.
A native of Westchester County, NY, Ms. Wool was one of SUNY Geneseo’s first graduating musical theatre majors, where she served in leadership roles in the school’s three major choral organizations and performed as a vocal soloist with the jazz ensemble. Regional theatre highlights include an OnStage Critics Award nomination for her performance as Wednesday in The Addams Family, and a BroadwayWorld Award runner-up for playing Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar with Madison Lyric Stage. Other favorite roles include Kira/Clio in Xanadu, Amy in Company, and the titular roles in Evita and Sweet Charity.
An accomplished singer/songwriter and a regular on the concert and cabaret scene, Ms. Wool debuted her 2015 solo show, Character Breakdown, in northern Westchester to critical acclaim. Her NYC solo cabaret, Broadway. That Happened, premiered Off-Broadway in January 2025 at Playhouse 46, where it will return in April 2025.
